book, The Mezuzah in the Madonnas Foot. Ms. Alexy will
speak about "Jewish Identity in a Hostile Climate," as
she traces her own story of a girl raised as a Catholic in Europe
who then becomes a well-known and respected American author. She
expands her perspective to include all conversos in North America.
The Marrano Legacy: A Contemporary Crypto-Jewish Priest Reveals
Secrets of His Double Life is the title of her new book. The
main character is Simon, who became a Catholic priest in order to
protect a community of secret Jews in Latin America. We also learn
more about Trudi Alexys personal story. Ms. Alexy has agreed
to autograph copies of her books, which will be on sale at this
Tucson event of the JHSSA.
